Family...It's such a strange thing. You don't choose who you get, yet they always seem just right for you.
This weekend, my family came to visit. it is amazing how long you can be apart and still feel so close. Logan has been living in Germany and we haven't seen him in almost a year, but I still felt an instant heart connection with him the moment I saw him. He is and always will be my brother. He is back in Germany now and will be returning to Iraq for a 15 month stay in June. So far away, yet always in my heart, on my mind, and in my prayers. If you read this, I love you, Logan.
And then there's Dustin...I talk to him much more often. He is living in Borger, working out at the Phillips refinery now. He seems to be liking it okay. I can't imagine living back in Borger. He will agree that there is not much to do, but they do have a new bowling alley that really rocks! Dustin treated us all to a Mavericks game while he was here. That was amazing. What made it even more exciting was that while it was going on, there were tornado warnings going on all around the DFW area. I will post more about the game later. What an amazing guy Dustin is. We really enjoyed having him around and hope that he comes back to visit soon. We have a Six Flags ticket waiting on him!!!
I didn't get any pictures of Dad, which is really no surprise. Though he has gotten much better about me taking them, he isn't one to really hang out in front of the camera. But I did get this shot of Mom. She was, of course, a little upset to see Logan go, but we know that God has him wherever he goes and will protect him from all harm. Mom is such a strong person. I know it is so hard on her. What would we do without our loving saviour to carry us through times like these?
